Who is responsible for your information
AttorneyCanada operates this website and is the organisation accountable for personal information collected through it. For any privacy question or request, contact noelleurope@gmail.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you contact us or submit an enquiry we may collect your name, email address, phone number, province, the practice area you need and the details of your message.
Lawyer and firm information. For listings we collect professional details: name, firm, licence number, practice areas, languages, office location and contact details, plus billing information for paid memberships.
Technical information. Collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring URL and approximate location derived from IP.
We do not ask you to send confidential case details through this website, and you should not. Anything you send us is not protected by solicitor-client privilege.
How we use information
To operate and improve the directory; to connect prospective clients with lawyers who match their stated need; to verify professional credentials; to answer enquiries; to process memberships and payments; to measure site performance and advertising effectiveness; to detect misuse; and to meet legal obligations.
When we share information
If you submit an enquiry for a lawyer or firm, the details of that enquiry are shared with that lawyer or firm so they can respond. We also use service providers (hosting, analytics, email delivery, payment processing) that process information on our behalf under contract. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember preferences and understand how pages are used. We may use analytics and advertising services, including Google services such as Google Analytics and Google Ads, which may set cookies or use device identifiers to measure campaign performance and show ads on other sites.
You can opt out of personalised Google advertising through Google Ads Settings, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site behave.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law — typically up to 24 months for enquiry records and longer for billing records where tax rules require it.
Safeguards
Information is stored on servers protected by encryption in transit, access controls and logging. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent to future contact. Email noelleurope@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date above shows the current version, and material changes will be highlighted on this page.
