About

An independent registry for Canadian legal counsel

AttorneyCanada exists to make one hard decision easier: choosing the right lawyer. We list licensed Canadian lawyers by practice area and province, publish plain-language guides, and stay transparent about how the platform makes money.

What we do

We help members of the public shortlist licensed lawyers by practice area, province and city, then contact them directly. We publish city and provincial guides explaining fee norms, deadlines and what to ask before signing a retainer.

What we are not

AttorneyCanada is not a law firm, is not a referral service operated by any law society, and does not provide legal advice or legal services. No solicitor-client relationship is created by using this website. Contacting a lawyer through the directory does not retain them; a retainer exists only once you and that lawyer agree in writing.

How verification works

A “verified” badge means we checked the lawyer’s licence number and standing against the relevant provincial law society or barreau record at the time of listing. Verification is a point-in-time check, not an endorsement, guarantee of outcome, or assessment of quality. Always confirm current standing with the regulator in your province.

How we are funded

The directory is free for the public. Lawyers and firms may pay for membership tiers (Standard, Verified Pro, Featured Firm) or for qualified enquiries. Paid placement is always labelled as featured or sponsored. Paying does not change the accuracy of the information we publish, and we do not accept payment to remove legitimate criticism.

Accuracy and corrections

Listing details are gathered from lawyers, firms and public regulator records, and can go out of date. If something is wrong, email noelleurope@gmail.com and we will review it, normally within two business days.
